Goodbye Gifts for Children

My friend has been the nanny of 3 uber cute little girls for the past 6 months, but they're now moving to a different city. She wanted to get them a small gift to say goodbye so I jumped at the chance to offer up my services.

They're between 6 and 10 years old so we decided to get them the same thing so that there would be no arguments. Anyone who has seen the rage of a child in the middle of a heated argument over who has the best toys (so must therefore be the best person on the planet EVER) will agree.

Firstly I found these Mr Men and Little Miss key rings from That Company Called If. This means that she can still personalise them to each child.

Next we got these little cake-shaped lip balm pots. You can buy them seperately and in sets of four which cost a little bit less so may be worth it, depending on how many you are buying for.

Lastly, we picked these letters from Soul, which adds another nice personalised touch. I also worked out that (only) if your name begins with 'A' then you can make a reef, which you absolutely MUST have. If your name doesn't begin with 'A' then sorry, you cant have a reef, you poor deprived soul.

From You To Me

From You To Me have a serious contender for most thoughtful fathers day gift 2013. It is a journal of a lifetime which you give to your dad and is full of questions about his life. Your dad fills it in and gives it back. Such a nice way to find out things about him you previously may not have known.

And if thats not enough, they've gone and catered for the whole family. So thats the next years worth of family presents sorted then...

What about you, have you bought you Fathers Day gift yet?

First Post Ever!

Hello and welcome to our new blog! We are a design-led gift shop in Manchester and we'll be writing about all manner of gift related news.

We're well into our Fathers Day countdown on Twitter (follow us @Loop_Manchester) so thought we'd start from there! A lot of people find it difficult to find a nice Fathers day gift. Obviously, theres the usual socks and aftershave combo (which is pure gift gold to be fair) but its also nice to branch out and put a bit more thought and effort into it.

We tweeted this book lamp a couple of days ago.

Its safe to say that most people like to read and That Company Called If have helped us along with this mini lamp which can also clip onto the top of your book. Plus it looks great.
What That Company Called If say about it... 'Its very now. Its very then. Its a fully functional retro-style book lamp'
What we say about it... 'ITS A TINY TINY LAMP!'

And here are some of todays bestsellers to go with the lamp, because a lamp without a book is like a fish with out reading glasses...or something.
